One of the best times of year to be outside with your children is Spring. The weather is cool enough to enjoy with just a layer or two of clothing, the grass is green, the flowers are blooming and its not yet too hot or extreme outside. I particularly love taking my daughter into the garden in our home and showing her nature at its core. We don’t have a massive garden but its big enough to harvest a few fruits and vegetables each year. The curiosity in her face is something to marvel at. Spring brings along an overall good feeling of hope and change for the New Year that is much appreciated and enjoyed.
There are a few wonderful holidays that coincide with this time of year that people with children especially love to celebrate. Easter and Earth Day are perfect setups for learning and exploring. For Easter in our house we love showing Ché what eating in season looks like. We have a wonderful pick of seasonal fruits and vegetables to explore Easter Sunday. Strawberries are great this time of year, so a lovely strawberry shortcake is in order. Also, let’s not forget the carrot cake. On the healthier side of the fence we enjoy a good beet quinoa salad with fresh arugula from our garden, some goat cheese, herbs, apple cider and balsamic vinegar to top it all off. There are so many wonderful things you can do with a side dish like that.
Overall, we want you to embrace the change in season. There is so much opportunity to spend a little bit more time with loved ones and bask in the beautiful sunlight. Eat all the veggies your little heart desires and don’t forget to set your goals high this time of year. Its the end of the forth quarter and a wonderful way to look back and forward at how far you’ve come so far in 2023 and how much more progress you’ve got to make. Wishing everyone all the best, love and success into the new season.
